I flew to Kentucky Tuesday morning so I could keep Jack company on his drive home to Florida. We went to Chik-fil-a because it’s tradition and when we got back to his apartment he surprised me with this:

A WSD Trek 4300.

She’s hot.

I got to test her out on some trails we’ll be living close to next summer & it was awesome.

My boy is good.

I graduated!!

And after sending out about 15 resumes to places in Louisville, I have learned that I do not have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, BUT I have a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a Concentration in Journalism. But we’ll just sweep that under the rug.

I just got back from a trip to the mall with my friend Kim and her two kids.

It was bittersweet. Sweet because she has become such a good friend and hanging out is always nice. Bitter because this will probably be the last time we hang out in a long time.

I met Kim last semester when the Lord led me to a bible study at a church I went to one Sunday. I had just read a Beth Moore book, and so the bulletin caught my attention that Sunday morning when I read that a Beth Moore bible study was starting up. And so I went.

That is where I met Kim. She was leading the study. I made a commitment that I was going to be committed to going to the weekly studies and I would do all my homework. It turned out so cool, because I learned a lot and I made a lifelong friend, and those are so hard to find.

Big coincidence too! It turns out that her little sister is friends with Jack’s sister and my maid of honor, Carrie!! Small world, eh?

I love when I get too see glimpses of God orchestrating things.

100 days

Today I was informed that there are only 100 days until I will no longer be Laura Brocco. 100 days. I started my countdown at 205 days and it’s halfway! Wedding plans are almost done. I just ordered invitations and I took Jack’s advice and I went as simple as possible. The boy has good taste. Speaking of taste, the only thing left wedding planning wise is the cake, and I can keep playing that one. I play a mean game of fickleness with cake testing, but truth be told I just love cake and buttercream. I think that’s about it with my life. I graduate next Friday, and I just found out when I went to pick up my graduation tickets that I am part of the College of Arts and Sciences. I don’t know how I’ve come this far and didn’t know that. I’ve been going to spin classes, and I love the instructor Ms. Susan. She’s a Duke fan, and that doesn’t mean that much to me, but that’s pretty much all I know about her, but I still like her a lot. I’m super stoked about this summer and sports camp. I’m so excited to get to hang out with kids all day.

3 days and 63 degrees…

…in that order.

In 3 days, Jack is coming to Florida! That’s this Friday! I haven’t seen him in almost 3 months, and that’s definitely the longest we’ve ever gone apart.

And not only is he coming to Florida for spring break, but he’s also baptizing me Sunday!

I googled Florida water temperatures in March, and Lake Lucerne should be sitting at around 63 degrees.

In the past few years I’ve developed a strong diversion to cold water, but for this I’m making an exception.

I wonder if God pours out extra blessings on people who get baptized when it’s cold out…but even if He doesn’t, I am so excited both to get baptized and to see Jack. YAY!

I just got back from a sailing trip in the Virgin Islands and it was pretty amazing. I still feel like I’m rocking back and forth. Here’s some pictures.

Losing steam

I am..losing….steam…..

I’m at that point in the semester where it’s getting harder to go to classes…harder to be motivated to work…etc.

So to get my second wind, I’m going to Polk County this weekend to stay with the Jarretts.

Hopefully this will get me through April…but seriously this summer could not get here fast enough.

And I’m so excited for it all…. graduating, sports camp, youth camp, getting married, moving to Kentucky…MMmmm.
